Encourages extra effort to prevent infection
On Wednesday, 21 new cases were registered in Sogndal municipality. The municipality is now encouraging extra efforts to reduce the infection.
Sogndal municipality recommends the following, initially until Thursday 2 December:
- Use face masks where it is challenging to keep your distance.
- Reduce the number of close contacts.
- Keep a distance where possible.
- Avoid events where it is not possible to keep your distance.
In addition, the general infection control advice is to wash your hands, stay home if you are ill and get tested.
- It is important to be able to maintain our services, and in light of current situation the municipality is now giving clearer advice on how people can face the infection situation, says mayor Arnstein Menes.
He says that people are good at doing what they are supposed to in the situation we are in, both by testing themselves and reporting. He now asks everyone to join the efforts to reduce the number of infections.
Sogndal municipality has experienced a significant increase in the number of corona infections, and in the last six days, 44 new cases have been registered in the municipality.
On Wednesday, 8 new infections were detected in Balestrand, 2 in Leikanger, 10 in Sogndal and 1 in Fjærland, and there are infections in several municipal institutions.

Sogndal kommune tilrår følgjande, i første omgang fram til torsdag 2. desember:
- Bruk munnbind der det er utfordrande å halda avstand.
- Reduser talet på nærkontaktar.
- Hald avstand der det er mogleg.
- Unngå arrangement der det ikkje er mogleg å halda avstand. Aktivitetar for barn og unge kan halda fram når det er gjort nødvendige tiltak som reduserer smittefaren.
Det er viktig å følgja dei generelle smittvernråda om å vaska hender, halda deg heime om du er sjuk og testa deg.

- Det er viktig å kunne halda oppe tenestene våre, og i lys av det vel kommunen no å gje tydelegare råd om korleis folk kan møta smittesituasjonen, seier ordførar Arnstein Menes.
Han fortel at folk er flinke til å gjera det dei skal i den situasjonen me er i, både ved å testa seg og melda frå. Han ber no alle om å vera med på dugnaden for å få ned smittetala.

Sogndal kommune har opplevd ein vesentleg auke i talet på koronasmitta den siste tida, og dei seks siste dagane er det registrert 44 nye smitta i kommunen.
Onsdag vart det påvist 8 nye smitta i Balestrand, 2 på Leikanger, 10 i Sogndal og 1 i Fjærland, og det er smitte i fleire kommunale institusjonar.
